Assessment in the DP
Assessment plays a crucial role in promoting learning and growth in students and in eliciting evidence of learning and tracking progress. The IB’s approach to assessment is that learning, teaching and assessment should effectively inform and support one another. The IB’s vision is that students will benefit from a holistic assessment experience throughout their IB education, and that their sense of self-efficacy and agency are enhanced in the process.
Upcoming Summative Assessment (DP)
Students in Years 12 and 13 will be assessed on the units that they have completed. These assessments will be conducted from October 6 – 12, 2022 before the mid-semester break. Parents are encouraged to ensure that their wards are constantly revising topics taught in class to enable them to prepare adequately for these assessments. Students who absent themselves during these assessments may not get another opportunity to sit for the assessment if they do not have evidence to support their absenteeism eg. a medical report for sickness etc.
IBDP Examination Registration
Registration for the May 2022 examination session is ongoing for DP and CP students. We will provide your wards with their registration forms on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. Kindly cross check your ward’s personal details, subjects and levels to ensure that all details are accurate before endorsing his or her form. If there are concerns, please submit the form indicating the necessary corrections to be made, and the appropriate action will be taken. Thank you for your cooperation in advance.
After School Lesson Schedule (IB DP Year 2)
Students in Year 13 will be having lessons after school to enable them to cover the components that the IB has reinstated. We are appealing to all DP parents to support us during this period of time and ensure that their wards attend these lessons after school. SOSMUN Conference
Members of the ARIS MUN club will be attending a face to face Model United Nations conference at SOS Hermann Gmeiner School in Tema from October 8 – 10, 2022. All participants are expected to be formally dressed in skirt or trousers suits, formal dresses, or blazers, or any formal attire that will give them a professional and modest appearance. Please note that no jeans, sleeveless shirts, sneakers or jeans will be allowed. Kindly ensure that your ward is adequately prepared for this occasion. The program outline will be shared with you in due course.
