SECONDARY HIGHLIGHTS (APR 23)

Dear Parents,

Happy Easter and Ramadan, Mubarak, to you all. May this holy month bring peace, prosperity and joy to every member of the ARIS community. This newsletter updates you on the latest news and activities at Secondary School.

First of all, on behalf of the whole Secondary School, I express my sincere thanks to all parents who took their valuable time to accompany their wards for our Student-led 3-way Conference and a one-on-one meeting with me. Your support and encouragement are very much appreciated.  Our Coordinators will share their calendars with you if you want to meet specific subject teachers.

I would also like to express my sincere appreciation to our PSA for helping us to organise a very informative and successful life skill event for our students and teacher, “ Financial Literacy Day”. From now on, this event will be our yearly event.

End Of Year Reflection

As we approach the end of the 2022-23 academic year, it is time for us to reflect upon our work. Kindly provide us with your feedback on this Jamboard. It will take only 5 minutes. Your reflection would help us to serve you better in the next academic year.

Important  Announcements

Attendance

As you know, the MYP / DP / CP programs are highly demanding, and every student requires specific contact hours to attend. Hence regular attendance is critical to your child’s success in school and life. When they miss out on important lessons, they cannot be fully replicated or caught up by other means. As a result, it can impact their academic progress. We have addressed this issue with many parents during the 3-way conference.  I sincerely urge you to take a more active role in ensuring that your child attends school regularly. Kindly find our follow-up procedure for unexcused absences from school. Kindly find our Attendance Policy attached HERE.  Take a critical look at the follow-up process in this policy.

Emergency Pick-Up

Our Front Desk or Nurse will contact you directly to pick up your child from school. If students become ill, they must visit our clinic to see the school nurse. If they require immediate pick-up from home, our nurse or front desk will notify you. We expect your full cooperation in this matter.

I urge you not to send a driver to pick up your child unless you receive a call from the school.
