IBCP Highlights (SEP/OCT 24)

IBCP 1 – Y12

ARIS Dragons Den is our initiative within the Personal and Professional Skills course, where IBCP students

pitch innovative business proposals. At the end of IBCP, the students will present business ideas developed over their two-year CP journey, applying skills and knowledge gained throughout the program.

The journey began this weekend with the “Future Entrepreneurs Program” by Harvard Student Agencies, designed to equip students with essential entrepreneurship skills, such as pitching, market research, and investment strategies. This intensive online course continues next weekend, on the 21st and 22nd of September, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, exclusively for IBCP 1 and 2 students.

Through this program, students will transform their ideas into actionable business plans, gaining invaluable experience that prepares them for real-world business challenges. We look forward to seeing their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit come to life!

Pearson Progress & Active Learn

In addition to ManageBac, IBCP students are introduced to a new platform called Pearson Progress. It is a new accessible and easy-to-use digital platform that has been designed to help teachers get closer to their learners by simplifying the planning and assessment of Pearson BTEC qualifications.

Benefits for learners:

  • Clarifies what is expected in terms of assessment criteria
  • Reminders and notification of submission dates or extensions
  • Upload evidence from any location
  • Track personal progress and view teacher feedback.

All CP1 and CP2 students are now registered on the new platform and have been taken through the interface to be used when submitting their tasks.

In addition to the Pearson Progress, the IBCP students also have access to their study textbooks on ActiveLearn. ActiveLearn by Pearson is an online learning platform designed to enhance teaching and learning experiences through interactive resources, personalized lessons, and progress tracking. The IBCP1 students are now set to start their IBCP Journey.

IBCP 2 – Y13

On Friday, 13th September, our students participated in a Pecha Kucha presentation, a unique storytelling format where each student presented 20 images to share their personal story in front of a jury. This exercise is part of the Personal and Professional Skills (PPS) course, focusing on effective communication. The activity aims to develop students’ public speaking skills, creativity, and confidence, while encouraging them to articulate their thoughts and ideas concisely. This engaging format not only enhances communication skills but also fosters self-awareness and peer connection.

Reflective Project Deadlines

After researching and investigating topics for the Reflective Project, the CP2 students are now expected to start working on their essays. By the end of September 2023, the students should have their essay outline ready along with the list of primary and secondary resources. The first official interview with their supervisors should be completed by the end of September.

CP Core Portfolios Presentation

By the end of the first semester, all CP2 core activities should be completed and documented in a digital portfolio for the students. Before the mid-semester break, a CP Core cafe will be conducted where CP2 students will present their progress. To support your ward at home, kindly ask them to share their activities and what they have completed so far.
