MYP Highlights (NOV/DEC 24)

Following the 3-Way Conferences, we have organized one-on-one meetings between parents and teachers based on requests submitted through the survey completed after the conferences. Some parents have already attended their meetings, and we kindly ask for patience from those who have not yet been contacted. Meetings will continue to be scheduled, and we appreciate your understanding.

MYP 1-4 students will continue their final summative assessments until 29th November. All students are required to attend school after the assessments, as learning will continue in the classrooms.

For students who miss any summative task in November, there will be an opportunity to complete these during the first week of December. Students must bring their laptops and chargers to school daily during this period.

In MYP 1-3, students are exploring why their current lessons are important and how they apply to the real MYP 1-5 students will participate in Service Day on 10th December, showcasing the actions they have taken in their various subjects. This event highlights the central role of Service as Action in the MYP, which encourages students to apply their learning to real-world contexts and make meaningful contributions to their communities. Through Service as Action, students develop key skills such as collaboration, critical thinking, and empathy, while also addressing global challenges aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  • MYP 1-3: A structured, guided Service as Action project:
    • MYP 1: SDG 10 – Reducing Inequalities
    • MYP 2: SDG 13 – Climate Action
    • MYP 3: SDG 3 – Good Health & Well-Being
  • MYP 4-5: A variety of student-initiated activities aligned with different SDGs.

This day is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their understanding of global issues and the tangible ways they are taking action to create positive change.

MYP 3 and MYP 5 students have been oriented on the requirements for their next class level. For MYP 3 students, the next class level is MYP 4, where they will continue with a broad curriculum but begin to specialize by selecting certain subjects. For MYP 5 students, the next step is transitioning to the IB Diploma Programme (DP) or Career-related Programme (CP), where they will focus on subjects tailored to their future academic and career aspirations.

Additionally, a parent workshop has been held for MYP 3 parents to provide guidance on subject selection. Subject selection forms for both year groups will be shared at the end of the semester.

For MYP 5 parents, a Zoom workshop will be scheduled to discuss subject selection and requirements for DP/CP. The date for this session will be communicated before the December holidays.

MYP 5 students have completed their end-of-semester assessments and are now focused on their final ePortfolio Task 1, which they will work on for the remainder of the semester. Their timetables have been adjusted to accommodate dedicated portfolio lessons.

Students are also expected to finalize their Personal Project products by the end of this semester. In January, they will begin working on their project reflections.

Important Dates for MYP 5:

  • Mock Examinations: 20th–27th February
  • Personal Project Exhibition: 3rd March
