Dear ARIS Primary Community,
What a wonderful start we’ve had to the new academic year! August and September have been filled with energy, curiosity, and joy as our students have settled into their classes and embraced the spirit of learning. It has been inspiring to see how quickly they have connected with their peers, teachers, and our routines.
As a PYP school, we place great value on inquiry, agency, and community. Already, students are asking thoughtful questions, making choices about their learning, and demonstrating the IB Learner Profile in action. Whether it’s showing caring in the playground, risk-taking in new activities, or thinkers in the classroom, our learners are living the values that guide us.
This year’s theme, “Wings of Change – Hearts of Courage,” is already visible in the way our students are embracing new challenges and showing resilience. With courage in their hearts, they are taking flight as change-makers who will inspire and lead with kindness and confidence.
We have truly set the tone for an exciting year ahead, and we look forward to continuing this journey with each of you as partners in your child’s growth and success.
Warm regards,
Evon

Spotlight on Learner Profile
Feature a Learner Profile attribute of the month –
August/ September – Inquirers and Communicators
We are celebrating two key IB Learner Profile attributes: Communicator and Inquirer. These qualities help our students grow as confident, curious, and globally minded learners.

Communicator
ARIS students express themselves confidently and creatively in more than one language and in many ways. They collaborate effectively and listen carefully to the perspectives of others
Inquirer: Our students develop their natural curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and conducting research to deepen their understanding of the world. They enjoy learning independently and with others, showing enthusiasm and persistence.

How teachers encourage curiosity and inquiry
Teachers spark curiosity and inquiry by encouraging students to ask “why” and “how” questions during lessons, using wonder walls to capture their thinking, and exploring ideas through research, experiments, and storytelling.
